    I'm amazed at how this machine can compensate for bulky heavy loads like multiple
    bathroom rugs that threw my prior machine totally out of balance. As for cleaning,
    it does a good job with very quiet operation.

    As for any musty smell - there isn't any. However, using too much soap is a common
    mistake which could lead to buildup and possible odor issues. Or a home may simply have
    a bad water smell which could be more noticeable in a front loader than a top loader because
    it isn't vented as well. I recall the rotten egg smell (sulpher dioxide) of the water in Florida
    when I lived there years ago. You came out of the shower smelling bad.

    Note monthly cleanings are typical for most all front loaders which use little water. There
    simply isn't the same volume of water used in top loaders which tend to flush out both grime, as
    well as the overuse of laundry detergents, softners, etc.

    This machine is new. I used it 6 times in 3 weeks. I kept the door open when not in use. The 3rd load had bleach in it. Now the clothes smell moldy. The tech came out and said it was working fine and required the cleaning product with cleaning cycle every month, but said it is unusual for them to smell when they are so new, but said there is nothing wrong with the machine. Returning it.
