We received our dryer yesterday. The packaging was excellent,the dryer was palletized and bubbled rapped. Once we removed the packaging the dryer was spotless. My overall impression is that it is very well made. Once we turned it on with a full load of clothes the dryer ran very quiet. I'm very satisfied to have purchased a dryer of this quality at such a great price.

After posting the review below, I was contacted by a representative of Amazon.com. He agreed that Haier America's response to my dryer problems was not appropriate and was taking far too long. He said that he would contact Haier and request, on behalf of Amazon.com, that Haier immediately replace the defective dryer that they were taking so long to repair. Within days Haier contacted me and let me know they were sending a replacement for the defective dryer. Within another few days I received by new, and properly working dryer. I thank Amazon.com for making the effort to help one of their customers who was not being properly served by one of Amazon's suppliers.

While this dryer performed adequately when I first received it, after 8 months it abruptly stopped working. When I contacted the manufacturer they made arrangements for a service company to come out and repair it. We would like the dryer if it didn't make everything we run through it smell faintly like skunk (just enough to annoy you all day long). We thought this might just be an initial thing but we've run something like 30 loads so far and it hasn't gotten better. This may just be something specific to our dryer. Besides the smell, the dryer is a decent value. The settings are simple and straight-forward and it dries clothes so it does the job otherwise.
