5.0 out of 5 stars Good Choice, September 8, 2009

Although I did not buy this from Amazon, I can wholeheartedly recommend this product. It is very quiet, uses very little detergent/water and is so easy to use. There is a little computer on the front that is user-friendly, the inside lights up, and your laundry products go into a drawer on the front with measurements that are easy to see. Some of my clothes came out almost dry because it extracts the water so well! The capacity is good because I was able to wash a king-sized bulky comforter in it. I bought the matching dryer at the same time and both are worth the investment. My last pair was from Maytag and the repairman was busy at my house, not like on the commercials.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good washer with one glaring problem, February 4, 2011
By
This review is from: Electrolux : EIFLW55HIW 27 Washer Island White
I have had this washer for nearly two years. Over all, it's a good machine, but my major gripe with it is that whenever you put a heavy item in the wash, most times it refuses to spin. Even when I have a bunch of bath towels in there, plus a heavy bath robe, it still refuses to spin, leaving me with a big load of sopping wet clothes. At my other house, I have a Miele washer, and it always manages to wash and spin every single load. If Electrolux offered a way of overriding this perfect blanace system at times, it would be a much better machine.

5.0 out of 5 stars vast improvement, March 2, 2010
This review is from: Electrolux : EIFLW55HIW 27 Washer Island White
A vast improvement over my 22-yr.old top loader; clothes come out cleaner, less damaged, and judging from slipperiness and detergent perfume smell, the rinse works much better, and the spin gets clothes dryer.

I don't buy the sales pitch that steam injected into the wash somehow gets clothes cleaner or the one about 5 different ways to tumble clothes in a rotating drum. Save your money, like I did, with this model instead of wasting it on worthless bells and whistles.

I bought the liquid HE detergent recommended, but I wanted to use up my big box of powdered detergent--no problem; the manual says to take out the small dish from the detergent dispenser box and dump the powder where it was and it works fine. I use about half the detergent over the old top loader because this machine uses less than half the water and I haven't had any problems with foaming.

[Product details: Item Weight: 148 pounds, Shipping Weight: 247 pounds] is definitely screwed... Read more

    5.0 out of 5 stars Samsung WF210ANW washer, March 13, 2011
This review is from: Samsung WF210ANW 4 cu. Ft. High Efficiency Front-Load Washer - White
Purchased this locally, but sharing this review in case it is useful to anyone else. Even when I don't buy item on Amazon, I always appreciate the information that others share as I try to make purchase decisions.

This unit replaces a 12-y.o Whirlpool top-loader, which had some mechanical difficulties that made for loud operation. Right up front, the sound level is an amazing improvement.

Design: Attractive, clean lines, clear display. I like the front-load configuration, with some qualifiers. First, without the separate pedestal, you need to lean down, squat, or kneel to see deeply into the drum. Not bad, but a change from top-loader. Second, as dallas7 already noted, the access panel to clean the filter is near the floor, so without the pedestal, there will not be a lot of space for a pan under the drain hose. I don't find those things upsetting, and at some point may consider adding the optional pedestal, because I think the storage would help to... Read more

    5.0 out of 5 stars A fine inexpensive washer, December 19, 2010

dallas7 (Phoenix AZ USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Samsung WF210ANW 4 cu. Ft. High Efficiency Front-Load Washer - White
My circa mid-70s top load Maytag which had never seen a repair call began crashing during the spin cycle; apparently what keeps the tub stabilized had worn beyond tolerances or whatever sensed imbalance was going bad. Besides, its 1100 kWh thirst and reliance on about 40 gallons of hot or warm water for a clean wash was starting to work on my green guilt.

After about a month of research, a local big-box store killer sale price with a 24 month no interest payoff got me this new Samsung WF210 three months ago. At 130 kWh and sipping just a few gallons of cold water I might expect it to pay for itself in short order - relative to appliance ownership timelines, of course.

Not paying any attention to this class of appliance for so long, I was quite surprised by the technology. They're not just tubs of sloshing water anymore. Compared to the three push buttons and timer dial of the Maytag, the Samsung's cycle options seem endless. I am amazed that my dirtiest... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent quality washer with a few minor drawbacks, August 8, 2011
    By
This review is from: Samsung WF210ANW 4 cu. Ft. High Efficiency Front-Load Washer - White
Purchased locally from BBuy, used for 6 months prior to giving a review.

    Pros:
    1. Very water efficient. I was switching from the 5-yr old top-loader Whirlpool. This Samsung weights each load to determine the optimal amount of water.
    2. Washes great even with cold water! (save on energy)
    3. Easy to use, very intuitive.

    Drawbacks:
    1. I placed the washer in the pan (to avoid flooding the floor in case of machine breakdown - paid $20 some dollars at HomeDepot). The pan limits how wide the drain compartment door opens and as a result makes draining and filter cleaning somewhat inconvenient. (Cleaning is required every couple of months. I cleaned once, but there was so little debris/dirt in the filter. Given this and the inconvenience of cleaning, I will clean it again in 6 months. Clean the pockets to minimize the dirt in the filter.

    2. Some water is being accumulated in the rubber sealant ring around the cover door - I am talking... Read more

This review is from: Haier HLP140E 2-3/5-Cubic-Foot Compact Tumble Vented Dryer (Kitchen)
I have only had this dryer for about 10 days now, but I'm very happy with it! There is one other review for this dryer and in it they say it takes a long time for the clothes to dry... this is true. But I think it's to be expected since this dryer can simply be plugged into any outlet unlike a normal dryer. So, smaller dryer... less power... longer drying time. The reason I'm giving this unit 5 stars is because if getting out the laundry mat is as important to you as it was to me, then the extra drying time is more than acceptable. Also, this dryer is VERY QUITE, simple to use and set up. For the first 5 loads I just had the machine sitting on the floor near a window - I didn't even have the hose out the window. It did get my apartment a little warm and humid (not since I've put the hose out the window of course), but I'm just making the point that it is very easy to set up.

How long does it take to dry clothes? I'm still trying to get all the drying times down myself... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Does what it's supposed to do in a convinent size!, November 18, 2008
This review is from: Haier HLP140E 2-3/5-Cubic-Foot Compact Tumble Vented Dryer (Kitchen)
I have a model of this I bought about a year ago--it looks slightly different than the one pictured here but has the same model number.

That said, this dryer is GREAT. It does take a while to dry clothes, but I got it to go along with the haier portable washer, and it dries one load in the time it takes another load to wash when I use the power wash setting, so that's pretty good.

However, the automatic settings really don't work that well--like a previous poster, I recommend using the timed dry options.

I also don't have the dryer vented to the outside--I instead purchased an indoor lint trap thing. I don't know that it really does much, but the dryer doesn't seem to release a lot of lint into my apartment. The dryer does add some heat and humidity to the apartment, but that's great in the fall/winter. Not so much in the summer, but it still beats having to go to the laundromat.

If you live in an apartment or somewhere that doesn't... Read more

My setup: I wash using the Haier HLP21N Pulsator 1-Cubic-Foot Portable Washer, spin dry using the Centrifugal Clothes Portable Spin Dryer, and finalize the process with this dryer. this process works for me.

edit 11/15: forgot to mention that you can set the dryer to a timed setting (30,60, 90, 120 minutes) and choose a higher or lower heat setting. BOY, I'm so happy I bought this. I no longer have to get quarters from the supermarket on Friday after work. This dryer really dries well. I really love the convenience of watching a football game on Sunday, and checking on the clothes during a commercial. Best investment for me EVER! I can almost... Read more
